Open Mic Night

Open Mic is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on the last Thursday of each month.

The event is a “general music open mic” style event which means musicians of any kind can get up to the mic and play their songs.

Our stage is located on our middle patio. It’s a hexagon shape and is sized for a tight trio.

Our vibe is relaxed and conversational. The stage sits within the beer garden, so we keep volumes at a level where the music fills the space without overtaking it. We are a true “third space,” somewhere people gather between home and work to create community. We look forward to meeting and hosting you!

How the Event Works

• Sign-up starts at 5:30pm.

• Performances go in sign-up order on a first-come, first-served basis and as time allows.

• Each performer gets up to 15 minutes to perform. Please plan your set list accordingly.

• Once everyone on the list has played, you’re welcome to go again – at the emcee’s discretion.

• The emcee will stick to the list and time limits – no preferences will be given.

 

What We Provide

• Mixer, PA and stage monitor.

• One vocal mic and stand.

• Two instrument/amp mics.

• Two XLR to 1/4 TRS cables to connect to your stuff.

• Power strip.

• We will set up your inputs and levels.

 

What You Must Bring

• In general, everything to hook up to the PA.

• Instruments.

• Pedal Boards.

• DI boxes.

• Guitar/bass amps (run at low volume and routed to the permanent surround sound).

• Additional Vocal microphones and stands.

 

Other Info

• Happy Valley is located at 406 Main Street in South Berwick, Maine.

• Street parking available on both sides of Main street.

• Please do not bring full or large drum kits. This is not meant to discourage percussion, you are welcome to bring a Cajon, Bongo, Conga, or anything that you can easily load in and out.

• Please be aware of your position in the queue and being ready to load in when it’s your turn. At the end of your performance, please move quickly and safely to clear the stage for the next performance.

• Due to time constraints, it is possible that not everyone on the list will get to play.

• Our beer garden is weather-dependent. If it’s going to rain, we will have to cancel the event. Please keep an eye on our social media or call our weather phone before arriving (207-420-8707).
